How to view and assign a case

To view a case, select the case row from the Dashboard or Quick Display Cards.

Version

The version section shows two tabs: Original and Edited. Original will display the details provided when the case was opened. Edited will display the original details as well as edited details after it has been updated by a managing user.

Case Form

Case form will display the original and edited version of the case details that are available for download.

Personal Information

Displays the basic info such as, name, email, phone and address of the occurrence.

Attached Files

Attached files will display any files attached to the case.

Incident Details

Incident details will display details of the incident such as date and time of the incident, address of the incident and name of the officer involved.

Additional Information

Additional Information will display additional information of the case such as Demographics.

Cases also contain additional tabs: Case Updates, Contacts, Officers. Tasks, Notes, Attachments, and History

Assigning a Case

Click on the plus sign under Assign To to assign the case to someone in your agency (e.g., investigator)

Changing Case Status

Click Received to change the case status (Received, In Progress, and Closed)

Click on the Download icon to download a PDF of the displayed case

Changing Case Type

or                  

Click on Compliment or Complaint to change the case type (inquiry, referral, other)

Cases also contain additional tabs: Case Updates, Contacts, Officers. Tasks, Notes, Attachments, and History.
